🛠️ Renovation Timeline Adjustments

After speaking with Deanne (who heads the painting firm), it’s been confirmed that the hallway, spare room, and bedroom painting will likely be delayed until February 2026. With their team currently tied up on other projects, it made sense to group these areas together for efficiency. From my perspective, this will also make it easier to move around during the work and reduce disruption.

🪟 Pelmet Decision

We also revisited the pelmet situation. Initially, there was some thought that the lounge pelmet could be removed and reused for the bathroom door. However, after discussion, we decided to keep it in place — it adds cosmetic value to the room. When the hallway is done, a new pelmet will be made specifically for the bathroom door, as the lounge one isn’t suitable.

🧳 Room Setup

Claire and Andy came by on Sunday and did a fantastic job clearing out the lounge. They boxed up the DVD and CD collection so everything is safe and out of the way. Both of my computers have now been moved into the spare room. It’s a tight fit, but workable for now.

⏰ Caregiving Glitches

There were a couple of hiccups with the care schedule:

• On Sunday morning, I didn’t get up until around 9:20 am (instead of the planned 7:30 am) due to a caregiver not turning up.
• This morning, my main caregiver was off sick, which caused another delay. I was still having breakfast when the painters arrived — not ideal, but we managed.
